A bespoke offer through One You Healthy Lifestyle Service

One You Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster is delivering a bespoke community based wellbeing offer in partnership with Turning Point, designed specifically for women in recovery from substance misuse. The work reflects a shared commitment to reducing health inequalities and ensuring support is inclusive, trauma informed and shaped by the people who use it.

As the Integrated healthy lifestyle service, One You brings prevention focused approach into the community settings that individuals feel anchored in. Building on a long standing and trusted relationship, Turning Point has invited One You to design and deliver a series of mindfulness workshops tailored to the needs of women on their recovery journey.

Supporting diverse voices

The result is a six session programme focused on mindfulness, nervous system regulation and nutritional support. The sessions provide practical tools that participants can use day to day to manage stress, feel more grounded and strengthen resilience at a pace that feels right for them.

The programme is led by Dafina Churchill, Partnership Manager at Reed Wellbeing, co-designed by Health & Wellbeing Coaches Kamila Stopka and Pauline Hoareau with oversight from Turning Point’s Women’s Advanced Recovery Lead Maria Hontaru. Drawing on backgrounds in healthcare, counselling, trauma informed mindfulness and nutrition, the One You team creates calm, compassionate sessions that are responsive to individual needs.

"I’m of the belief that wellbeing emerges when people are met, heard and held in collaboration. By working closely with service users and partners, we’re able to shape support that resonates with real lives and real needs. Each session is an invitation to tend to the self, honor self-direction and strengthen resilience.” -Dafina Churchill, Partnership Manager, Reed Wellbeing.

Shaped by lived experience

The programme was co produced with service users from Turning Point’s Tuesday’s Women Only group, ensuring sessions reflect real experiences rather than assumptions. This collaborative approach keeps workshops grounded, flexible, and participant-led.

"These mindfulness sessions are really important because many women coming out of addiction have spent years just trying to get through each day, with very little time to slow down or notice how they’re actually feeling. The sessions help rebuild confidence and that sense of ‘I can actually do this’ as they move forward in life. And as women start to feel more grounded, reaching out to other wrap around support across Reed One You and Turning Point feels much less overwhelming, which makes it easier to maintain their recovery." - Maria Hontaru, Women’s Advanced Recovery Practitioner Lead, Turning Point.

Creating joined‑up pathways

Alongside mindfulness, the sessions are designed to be accessible and supportive, offering small, sustainable steps that can be revisited daily. Participants are gently introduced to wider One You offer, including healthy eating, physical activity, wellbeing courses and Be Tobacco Free services.

By introducing options in a non overwhelming way, individuals explore support when it feels right for them. Together, One You and Turning Point are creating more joined up, accessible pathways that support individuals to sustain recovery and move forward with confidence.
