Small changes, big difference – Terersa’s story
2nd October 2026

Teresa joined the One You Kensington and Chelsea Lose Weight programme because she was unhappy with her weight and concerned about the impact it could have on her health. Living with hypertension and aware of her increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke, she wanted support to make positive lifestyle changes and improve her wellbeing.
“I was overweight and unhappy with this. I was at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease and was taking medication for hypertension. I was eating mindlessly, craving food and chocolate, and grazing throughout the day.”
The One You Kensington and Chelsea Lose Weight programme supports residents to achieve and maintain a healthier weight through personalised coaching, practical advice, and ongoing encouragement. Health Coaches work with participants to develop sustainable habits around nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change, helping them make healthier choices that fit into everyday life.
“I have made small, sustainable changes to my diet and physical activity, resulting in positive lifestyle changes. I now practice kindness and self-compassion. The personal coaching, flexible sessions, and relaxed approach were all supportive in helping me make small positive changes.”
“I previously felt sluggish and experienced gastrointestinal discomfort, but those symptoms no longer exist. Introducing dairy alternatives and lower-sugar options has made a great difference. I wanted to eat better, lose weight, reduce my cholesterol levels, prevent type 2 diabetes, maintain my blood pressure within normal limits, and reduce my chance of developing heart disease and stroke."
“So far, I have lost more than 4kg and my weight loss is ongoing. I am more active, and my energy and vitality levels have surged."
“My next steps are to lose another 4kg, continue following a healthy lifestyle, stay active through physical activity that raises my heart rate, and keep motivated. I want to live longer, enjoy life, and be a healthier and happier version of myself.”
