Behavior change workshop
7th September 2026

On 17 August, a community Behaviour Change Workshop was delivered at LDN London's Queen's Park venue by Kamila Stopka, Health and Wellbeing Coach at One You Westminster. The session was designed to support individuals with learning disabilities and additional support needs, providing a welcoming and inclusive space to explore practical ways of making positive changes to their health and wellbeing.
The workshop focused on the principles of behaviour change, helping attendees understand how small, manageable steps can lead to meaningful and sustainable improvements over time. Through discussion, reflection and interactive activities, participants were encouraged to think about their own wellbeing goals and identify realistic actions they could take in their everyday lives.
Kamila's approach centred on empowering individuals to build confidence in their ability to make changes at a pace that felt comfortable and achievable. By breaking larger goals into smaller, more manageable actions, the session demonstrated how gradual progress can support long-term success and help maintain motivation.
The workshop concluded with a guided mindfulness session, providing attendees with an opportunity to relax, reflect and explore simple techniques that can help support emotional wellbeing and stress management. The session was well received by both residents and carers, who engaged positively throughout the afternoon.
Alongside the workshop, One You Westminster also offered health checks, including blood pressure monitoring and carbon monoxide testing for both residents and carers. These additional health assessments provided an opportunity for attendees to gain a better understanding of their health and access personalised advice and support where appropriate.
The event reflects One You Westminster's ongoing commitment to making health and wellbeing support accessible to all members of the community. By delivering services in trusted local settings and tailoring approaches to meet the needs of different groups, the programme continues to reduce barriers to engagement and help individuals take positive steps towards healthier lives.
At the heart of the session was a focus on inclusion, empowerment and wellbeing. Through practical behaviour change techniques, mindfulness activities and personalised health support, participants were encouraged to develop the confidence, knowledge and motivation needed to make positive choices that can support their health both now and in the future.
