Making Every Contact Count (MECC)
Our free MECC training gives managers, team leaders and team members the chance to learn and pass on key messages, advice and tips when working with residents.
The course will support them to become more effective listeners, improve their conversations with others about behaviour change and confidently and efficiently signpost residents to appropriate services.
Content includes exploring the psychology of change and behaviour change theories, addressing barriers to change, spotting opportunities to spark health conversations and using active listening during these conversations.
We provide both Level 1 and Level 2 MECC. Level 1 is a one hour course that covers the basics of behaviour change theory and conversational concepts. Level 2 is a more in-depth, three hour exploration of behaviour change theory and associated practical skills.
Both are available in person and Level 1 can also be delivered online. Sessions are normally delivered to groups of 15+ people.
